Why run for the Executive Board of US Chess?

Like you, I am a chess player who loves to play, but I could not turn away from the immediate need to support the game versus just playing. My strength is my ability to pull teams of people together to do greater things collectively than individually. I am also known for working tirelessly to obtain goals and objectives while never forgetting how each action impacts the people I serve. I genuinely believe I would be an immediate asset to this board and the organization at-large. I will not make any definite promises as new members of teams rarely implement changes immediately, but here are a few of the issues that matter to me.

  • Post COVID OTB Program Recovery
  • Professional Player Support
  • Underserved communities (Seniors, Women, various Ethnic minorities and the those with Special Needs)
  • Mainstream Chess Leagues/Teams (including little league programs)
  • Developing new leaders for the future
  • Connecting more to chess entrepreneurs
  • Online Gaming and Cheating
  • Financial Rebounding/Rebuilding
  • Increased fundraising and corporate sponsorships
  • Focus on Volunteerism
  • Committee Performance
  • Seeing Chess Clubs increase in number and quality
  • Membership Drive
  • Increase college chess
  • Increasing FIDE/US Chess Events
  • Supporting State and Affiliate Growth/Function
